Software Station
The StopSign Software Station is the control center for all StopSign products and services. In the Software Station, users can adjust settings and reference other information about their StopSign membership. The most commonly viewed Software Station entries are listed below:

Account Menu > Edit Account
This is used to
ActivateorReactivateyour StopSign membership. See our Troubleshooting section for details on activating your account. -
Tools Menu > Settings
- Always show tray icon:
Display or hide the taskbar notification area icon.
- Launch at Windows startup:
Start the StopSign Software Station upon Windows startup.
- Perform update check after install:
Perform an update check after installing a product.
- Shutdown Firewall with "Shutdown All":
Shutdown StopSign Firewall when shutting down StopSign Internet Security.
- Show startup tips:
Display or hide the Tip-of-the-Day dialog.
- Always show tray icon:

Tools Menu > Settings - Update ChecksAutomatically check for updates: Checks for updates to the software automatically as they become available. Ensures that you always have the most current software and gives you the greatest level of security.
Provide an alert before update checks: Lets you decide when to check for updates that may be available for the software.
Disable all updates: Your software remains in the same state as of the last allowed update. Not recommended in most circumstances.

Tools Menu > Settings - Update InstallationInstall updates automatically: Updates are installed as they become available without any intervention required.
Install updates based on product prompt: You will be prompted that updates are available and will have to OK them before they are installed. This is a manual versus automatic process.

This allows you to perform a manual update check.

eAcceleration > Features - Membership
Provides overview information regarding Custom Cure™, Threat Scanner, Spyware Remover and Popup Blocker.

eAcceleration > Features - My Account
Snapshot view of your membership data including your Account ID, the email address used when activating the membership, and the expiration date of your membership. Also provides the StopSign Support Staff contact information.

eAcceleration > Features - Messages
This area may contain messages regarding your StopSign membership.

StopSign > Features - Overview
The StopSign Product Information window lets you know what software products you have downloaded and whether or not you have them enabled (turned on).

StopSign > Features - Protection Status
This window provides a listing and the current status of the security features that you have available as well as which ones are currently running.

StopSign > Features - Threat ScannerNote regarding the StopSign Threat Scanner: We recommend using the default settings of the software unless you are an advanced user.

Threat Scanner Status
Allows you to manually configure the scanner and review recent results.
Scan Now: Allows you to do a manual scan at any time instead of waiting for an automatic or scheduled scan.
Turn On/Off Threat Scanner: Turns On/Off the scanner.
Threat Scanner Settings: Opens the Settings window.
Recent Scan Results: Shows your most recent scans.

Threat Scanner Settings
This section allows you to make changes to your settings.
Automatically Scan for Threats: If this box is not checked, you will have to perform a manual scan. You can start a manual scan by clicking
Scan Nowin the Threat Scanner Status section of the currently open window.Max Protection Mode: The software will scan your computer whenever you are not using it, up to three (3) times per day.
Custom Scan Schedule: Allows you to schedule the scan to run at a time that is convenient for you.
Edit Schedule: Shows the current scanning schedule and allows you to make changes.

StopSign > On-Access Scan
When you download any file, StopSign On-Access Scan immediately begins to scan the file and warns you if an infection is found. This allows On-Access Scan to block infected files before they do any harm.

StopSign > Popup Blocker
StopSign Popup Blocker prevents annoying Internet advertising popups. It automatically blocks unwanted popups, while still allowing user requested popup windows.

StopSign > Firewall
StopSign Firewall monitors your Internet connection, blocks intruder attacks, and provides advanced professional protection 24/7 for your computer.
