Troubleshooting
If you need help with your StopSign software or account, please contact StopSign Support staff and we'll be happy to assist you.

Installing StopSign
We recommend that you uninstall or disable programs similar to StopSign (antivirus, firewalls, etc.) to ensure your system runs as efficiently as possible. For more information see our section on conflicting software.
To install StopSign follow these steps:
To download StopSign, please visit http://www.stopsign.com/ and click "Download".
Click the
Runbutton.-
Accept the End User License Agreement (EULA), if prompted, by clicking
Continue.
Once the install is complete StopSign will begin your first scan.

Uninstalling StopSign
To uninstall StopSign follow these steps:
- From the Desktop on your computer, click on
Start > All Programs > eAcceleration > Add or Remove Products. - Click on the
Remove StopSign productsradio button and then clickNext >. - You should see check boxes next to all of the StopSign-related products you currently have installed. Click the boxes for every product you wish to uninstall.

+") sign next to some of the products. Click the plus to see expand the menu of products related to it which can also be selected for uninstall. - You may also notice a "
Remove All" button in the lower-left hand corner. You may click that button to automatically select all currently installed products instead of clicking on each check box individually.

- When you are finished selecting the product(s) you'd like to uninstall, click on the
OKbutton.- After you click the
OKbutton a confirmation box will display the product(s) you selected. If you need to make any changes click on theNobutton, otherwise clickYes.

- Once the selected product(s) have been removed, it may be necessary to restart your computer, in which case a restart prompt will display. Click
Yesto automatically restart your computer, or clickNoto manually restart it later.

Conflicting Software
To determine if you have conflicting software, go to your Control Panel.
Select
Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove ProgramsCommon security software to look for: Norton, Symantec, McAfee, Panda, Zone Labs or ZoneAlarm, and PC-Cillin. Spybot Search and Destroy, SpyCatcher (Tenebril), SpyFerret (OnlinePCFix), SpyFighter (SG-Soft), SpyHunter (Enigma), Spyware Anonymizer, Spyware Remover (BulletproofSoft), Spyware Stopper, Spyware Stormer, Spyzooka, Stopzilla, and Trend Micro Anti-Spyware 3.0 (Formerly SpySubtract).
If you encounter any problems while uninstalling software, please contact the software manufacturer for support.

The software says I need to pay.
This means that your membership is not currently active. You must activate your membership in order for StopSign to automatically cure any infections you have and/or may receive.

How do I know if I'm activated?
To verify that your StopSign membership is active:
Click
Start > Programs > eAcceleration > StopSign Software Station.Click
eAccelerationin theServicescolumn.Click
My Accountin theFeaturescolumn.-
In the
Overviewcolumn locateAccount Statusit should indicateActiveif your membership is properly activated.
You may also use this page of the Software Station to find the expiration date of your membership.

How do I activate?
Before you begin the activation process, please ensure that you are connected to the Internet. Also be sure to temporarily shutdown any firewall programs you may be running.
Open the Software Station by clicking
Start > Programs > eAcceleration > StopSign Software Station.Click on
Accountin the Software Station menu bar.-
If your software has been activated before, you may see either
Edit AccountorActivate. Select the available option.
There are two ways to activate your membership:
Activate with the email address used to purchase the account, or
Activate with the activation key provided after purchasing. This can be found in the confirmation email you should have received soon after your purchase.
Click
Submit.If you are reactivating, you may see the following dialog:
- Click
Replace Computerif you are reinstalling your software or transferring the software to a different computer. - Click
Upgrade Accountif you would like to upgrade your membership to protect additional computers.
