What It Does:

  • Installs other malicious files onto the computer.May download some non infected files onto the computer.
  • Installs itself into the registry so that the infection can run when Windows starts.
  • May copy itself to the Startup and/or Program Files directory as well as peer-to-peer shared folders.
  • Contains the functionality to use HTTP in order to connect to the internet and communicate with file sharing websites.

    Trojan.MulDrop.5747 spreads via peer-to-peer shared folders.

    How To Avoid Infection:
    Do not click any unexpected links in instant messages. Do not download email attachments from unexpected sources. Do not download unknown files or files from unknown sources. Scan all downloaded files with StopSign and ensure that all updates are installed from Microsoft's Windows Update.
