What It Does:

  • Contains the functionality to use HTTP in order to access the internet and communicate with a remote server.
  • Downloads and installs further malicious files.
  • Attempts to register itself as a service as well as a COM object and browser helper object.
  • Installs itself in the computer's registry in order to run when Windows starts.

    Trojan.Sentinel has no specific means of infection.

    How To Avoid Infection:
    Do not click any unexpected links in instant messages. Do not download email attachments from unexpected sources. Do not download unknown files or files from unknown sources. Scan all downloaded files with StopSign and ensure that all updates are installed from Microsoft's Windows Update.
